Verges Children’s Procession

The Children’s Procession of Verges: A Young Tradition

On Holy Saturday (or Saturday of Glory), the Verges Children’s Procession takes place at 5 PM. It is also divided into two parts: a representation in the main square, followed by a procession through the village streets.

The route is slightly shorter than the main event. In years when the participating Manages are very young, the procession may even skip the route through the iconic Carrer dels Cargols (Snail Street).

A Tradition for the Next Generation

The young Manages (Roman guards) wear red tracksuits to protect their legs, and even the smallest children make a tremendous effort to complete the entire route with pride and determination.

The children’s Dance of Death features the same components as the main procession, with one exception: since it happens during the day, the iconic torches are not needed.

While this version of the Procession has no mysteries, candles, or flowers, it carries the same profound cultural richness and community spirit as its nocturnal counterpart.
